Ever since I was a child I could remember my mother spritzing herself with the latest bottle of Ralph Lauren fragrance. My father would surprise her every now and then with a new monogramed bottle of perfume. There was always something so romantic and sensual about a woman’s sent. When I became older I was automatically fixated on smelling a certain way. I began collecting my own bottles of perfume.
When you choose a fragrance you really want it to capture the essence of who you are, or who will wear it.
I’m sure it’d be great to be that woman whose scent is instantly recognisable as hers and hers alone. For me though, different days and different places are for different scents. And who would ever want to discourage a loved one from gifting new perfume – there’s something so special about knowing the scent you’re wearing is the one he loves too.
