Hey everyone as most of you may already know… I’m pregnant. I found out that I was pregnant back in October of last year. Since becoming pregnant I’ve made it a priority to take my prenatal skincare ritual to a whole new level. Pregnancy can bring on an entire new list of skincare woes and I wanted to make sure I tackle them as early as possible as I continue to grow and my hormones continue to change. I looked into many different skincare products which I’ll be listing in a different blog post. Like most women who become pregnant, their major skincare concern is stretch marks… I’ve heard that if you do get them it’s all in your genetic pool but I thought I would be proactive and try to prevent them as much as possible with a good stretch mark cream along with healthy eating habits and good hydration. When I went shopping for a stretch mark cream I wanted something that was safe for me and my growing baby. Mustela stretch marks prevention cream was the perfect option for me.. as it’s hypoallergenic, it’s safe to use for moms and babies during prenatal and post-partum pregnancy. It’s also paraben-free and is formulated to minimize the risks of allergic reactions which was super important to me as I have some skin allergies to certain products. I’ve been taking extra precaution and been spending extra time after showering to massage this cream into my baby belly, my hips thighs and breasts during the mornings and evenings. Sometimes I’ll even add it mid-day during my lunch break. It’s important to try and take care of your body before the baby comes. After the pregnancy, I’ve heard that my body probably won’t look the same. However, I have been speaking to one of my friends that has just had a baby. She said she does have stretch marks, which she’s thinking about visiting Dr. Ramsen Azizi to try and remove. Apparently, she does feel quite insecure about her post-pregnancy body, which is why she’s considering a mommy makeover by a plastic surgeon. Maybe I’ll have to look into that after I have my baby. I am a little bit wary though, so I’ll definitely have to do my research first. Apparently there are cosmetic surgery statistics you can find at this source here which I think will calm any reservations I have about it. For now though, I’ll keep taking as much care of my body as I can. What I am worried about is the appearance of my breasts after breastfeeding. I know that they can get stretched and lose their shape and perkiness after breastfeeding, so to improve their aesthetics I’ve been looking into breast augmentation. This is definitely something I’ll keep in mind for later on.
I’m also using a body oil for extra hydration I’ll be sharing all the products that I’ve been using during my pregnancy soon in another blog post. If you have any suggestions on new maternity skincare products please leave me a comment in the comment box below. Some of my friends have recommended to me about seeing a dermatologist like Derrow dermatology, near where my some friends live, for any skin concerns. I have thought about it, but I will check with my doctor first to cover all bases! I’d love to try anything else that works great during pregnancy. Thanks!
